Wreaths Across America

On Saturday, December 13, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and District 4 City Commissioner Patty Sheehan will join the community at Greenwood Cemetery, to honor veterans during the holiday season as part of the national Wreaths Across America Day.
Greenwood Cemetery will be one of more than 2,700 locations nationally participating in Wreaths Across America Day, which began in 1992 at Arlington National Cemetery. This annual event seeks to further the WAA mission of Remember, Honor, Teach, ensuring that the memory of those who served our country endures.
Volunteers are needed two weeks before the event to place new American flags at each veteran’s grave, the day of the event to stage wreaths near the veterans’ graves, and three weeks after the event to clean up the wreaths.
An adult must accompany volunteers who are under 18 years of age.
