Next Meeting will be:

• December 9, 2025 @ 11:30 am
• Lunch will be held at the DoubleTree Orlando East – UCF Area. The DoubleTree is located at 12125 High Tech Ave, Orlando.  Please note, the hotel sits back off the road and may not be immediately visible.
• Price for Luncheon $24.00 per person and can be paid by using our Donate Button at the top and bottom of every page and using PayPal for your safety.

• Menu: Roast Turkey with Gravy, Cornbread Stuffing, Green Beans, and Rice Pilaf.
  Dessert will be the Chef’s Choice and a warm DoubleTree Cookie.
• Guest Speaker: CAPT Rich Sloane, USN (Ret)
  Rich is our MOAA Chapter family member who wears many hats that keep him from attending many of our meetings. We should feel honored that he has carved out time to talk with us on December 9^th.  You will not be disappointed! 
• Bio –

  Rich Sloane was born and raised in New York City where he attended public schools. Upon graduation from Boston University with a major in American History and Civilization he entered the U.S. Navy where he served for 27 years, retiring in the rank of Captain. Rich saw service with the Navy’s River Patrol Force in Vietnam, commanded the ammunition ship USS Santa Barbara, and completed his naval career with a command assignment at the Orlando Naval Training Center. He is a graduate of the Naval War College. Designated by the Navy as a subspecialist in Training and Education, Rich assumed increasing responsibilities in the field of education, leading from classroom teaching to management of major, complex training programs and schools.

  A resident of Oviedo, Florida since 1988, Rich was executive director of the USO of Central Florida and was executive director of the Greater Oviedo Chamber of Commerce prior to beginning his career at the UCF College of Education in 1999 where his responsibilities included communications, project management, advancement, marketing, and public and community relations.

  Rich is the Navy Council member of the Orange County Mayors Veterans Council, the Navy League of the United States, Military Order of the Purple Heart, and Sons of Spanish American War Veterans.  Rich is also a MOAA Central Florida Chapter member.  He previously served on the boards of the Foundation for Seminole County Public Schools and the Foundation for Orange County Public Schools, and on the board of the local Combined Federal Campaign. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Oviedo, the Oviedo Historical Society, and the Audubon Society.
  Rich is married to the former Margaret McKenna of Cranston, Rhode Island. The Sloanes are parents of two adult daughters.
