My name is Philip Nguyen and I was born in Stuart Florida. I enlisted in the Florida National Guard as a 27D (Paralegal Specialist). I am a Senior Army ROTC Cadet at UCF and I’m getting two Bachelors, one in Political Science and the other in Public Administration.
I currently work for the Orange County school district working two jobs: one as a substitute teacher and the other as a teacher assistant for special needs kids.
My goals include simultaneously getting a PHD in Education and securing an Active Guard Reserve (AGR) position as a Public Affairs Officer for the Florida National Guard. It’s my goal to obtain higher education and becoming an educator.
In my spare time I’d like to perform non-profit work and dabble in politics. My interests include jiujitsu, and it’s my goal to become a master level belt in martial arts. I’m currently a white belt so I have a long way to go.
Lifelong Learning is the reason I would like to get my PHD, and if possible, become a political scientist doing research.
